Padstow School MAZED NORTH

Padstow was the home town of story collector and writer Nellie Sloggett, so it was very special for year 3 to hear stories from Padstow collected and written by someone who went to their school long ago. Like Nellie, the Padstow children in Year 3 are brilliant storytellers and they retold Padstows tales at a storyfilled tea treat, and heard some tales in return fron their guests who included Mike and Tina O'Connor and John Buckingham from Padstow Museum. They illustrated the Legend of the Doombar and The Piskies who Carried their Beds in a busy printmaking workshop with artist Alex Goodman and Frances Ross from the Eden Project's storytelling degree course, and chose the Doombar for Alex to illustrate, but their favourite tale was really The Witch in the Well.
