Mazed books

Three books have grown out of Mazed.

Cornish Folk Tales of Place Mid and West Cornwall (2025) by Mazed writer Anna Chorlton features retellings of some Mazed tales and some.  Between its pages you can step onto the shores of Cornwall’s enchanted land and delve deep into a seam of windswept stories. High up on the cliffs encounter lovesick giants, playful piskeys and hungry dragons. Below on the sands, beware hissing spriggans, merry maids and restless ghosts. In granite villages meet dashing devils and wise women. Among mines, moors and seascapes swirling with folklore, inhale the true spirit of Cornwall and let your imagination run free with the legends of this wonderful place.

Botanical prints straight from Cornish nature set the scene, and shadows and blanket appliqué alongside community illustrations picture the stories.

Cornish Folk Tales of Place, North and East Cornwall (2019) is also by Anna Chorlton.
Here you'll find tales of powerful mermaids, spiteful witches, crafty smugglers and woeful ghosts alongside huge giants and elusive beasts.
It is illustrated by local artists and by members of the community who took part in Monochrome Mazed, a community arts project that gave people young and old a chance to illustrate their own local tales.

Published by the History Press, both books are available from all good bookshops.
